In today’s episode, Laura welcomes author, podcast host, co-founder, and CEO at muGrid Analytics, Amy Simpkins. Amy solves problems at the intersection of energy, technology, and economics using math and modeling.

The clean energy industry is booming and changing the way we have thought about energy over the past 100 years. There is a disruption to the stability that we have relied on, due to the nature of innovation and the changes that come with it. Around this, there is a common theme of “both, and” and the balance that is necessary in order for them to work hand in hand. Innovation is for everyone; innovation is an inherently human process. Through that process of innovation, there is a leap between theory and practice – and the leap is a chasm.

Tune into this episode to learn about the types of innovation, who can be an innovator (and how to do it), recognizing the need for, and knowing when to innovate, and the need for diversity, equity, and inclusion in leadership to have a boundary-breaking webbed perspective.
